This video displays a good portrayl of the distortion of beauty in our society. I am reminded of Proverbs 31:30 which says, “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.†For all of you young men, let this be a reminder that satisfaction doesn’t come from dating a sexy billboard model, but the fear of God is all that matters.

WOW Micah!!! That is an amazing video! Not only is it a lesson to young men, not be searching for the perfect billboard model, but it should also help young women everywhere to not try so hard to look like a billboard model but, rather, to be the women that God made them and intended them to be.
Thanks for your inspiring blogs, they are a joy and encouragement to read.
That is a very interesting video. But there is nothing wrong with making one’s self more presentable (doing your hair, applying makeup, wearing professional apealing clothes, etc.). A woman can do those things and still fear the Lord above all else. It is a good reminder that true beauty comes from within meaning that it is just as important to take care of one’s inner qualities as it is to shampoo one’s hair or apply makeup. Taking care of who you are on the outside I admit shouldn’t consume every aspect of one’s life but it does give others that first impression of who you are. And if you show on the outside that you care about the body that God has given you then most likely you care about the spirit that God has given you as well. I guess what I am saying is yes, in the long run physical beauty doesn’t matter as much as inward beauty, but that doesn’t mean that it is wrong to take the time to get all dolled up nor should the outward appearance be neglected. Those are just my thoughts on the topic at hand. Have a great day!
Hmm. So interesting! Truly, our image of beauty is so distorted. Sometimes I like to just people watch and think about real beauty. How beautiful and varied God’s creation is! And, more importantly, how vital it is to have ” the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 3:4)
I remember I used to feel so convicted that I wasn’t all that quiet by nature, until Kim B. kind of explained that this quietness was not seen in a lacking of exuberance or joy, but in gentle lovingkindness seen throughout each day.I think it pertains to the nature of not constantly trying to draw attention to yourself, but simply loving God. (As the context of 1 Peter 3 indicates. Yay for context!)
It is too easy to get focused on (quite literally) the fleshly beauty and judge according to that. May the Lord make us all truly beautiful–that kind of beauty that is for everyone, not just for girls!
