During one of the chapels this year, The Master’s College invited the Gettys to lead the singing time. The Gettys are a couple who write modern hymns for the church. They seek to write their songs based upon Scripture. They have recognized the tendency for people to write lyrics which focus on our experience and they have sought found their music on the truth of the Word.

This video shows them performing three songs during chapel. The first one you all know – In Christ Alone, which they wrote. The other two are great songs as well. I usually take a while to warm up to a song, but these two I enjoyed right away. The words are on the screen so you can see the boldness with which they present the gospel.

The last song was specifically written to be sung as a transitional piece between the singing and the preaching in a worship service.
